About the opportunity

This position sits within the Student and Community team in University IT and manages a number of public facing websites and other core technology systems at UWA.

A self-motivated attitude with the ability to work and thrive in a fast paced environment, the successful candidate will require outstanding C# Developer knowledge. Assuming responsibility for primarily working on the Sitecore web content management system, as an Analyst Programmer within the Digital team, you will also ensure that solutions are created and maintained in a consistent, logical, error-free and optimal manner. You will work with your team, the broader IT organisation and business stakeholders, defining and building solutions that meet business needs.  The team focuses largely on high volume public-facing websites in addition to a staff intranet, a Chabot and numerous legacy applications in various technologies. 

Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Design, develop and maintain new and existing Sitecore CMS features and sites.
  • Design, develop and maintain new and existing C# solutions (with MVC and Entity Framework)
  • Integrate data from various back-end services and applications
  • Meet with business stakeholders to understand their requirements
  • Research and advise on technology developments and directions in the Sitecore space.
  • Schedule and apply fixes and upgrades to applications and provide enhancements to systems as per user requirements.
  • Test solutions against customer acceptance criteria, ensuring quality of delivered solutions.
  • Design, develop and maintain a suite of automated test scripts written in Java using Selenium
  •  

To be considered for this role, you will demonstrate in your application:

  • Relevant University degree or equivalent industry experience
  • ITIL certification or demonstrated experience in ITIL processes
  • Proven communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Substantial experience across the full Software Development Life Cycle with a strong emphasis on analysis and development
  • Proven ability to create systematic and consistent requirements specifications, in both technical and user-friendly language 
  • Proven experience developing, implementing, integrating, repairing and maintaining application systems
  • Highly self-motivated and directed, demonstrating an ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks, with an ability to work concurrently on multiple projects
  • Proven ability to communicate, establish positive stakeholder relationships and negotiate competing priorities whilst remaining fully customer focused
  • Working knowledge of the Higher Education sector desirable
