  • Level B, part-time (0.8 FTE) appointment on a three year fixed term basis with flexible working arrangements available
  • Salary range: $97,310 to $115,350 pro rata (plus 17% superannuation)

About the team: The School of Allied Health is a new and innovative school in the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences at The University of Western Australia. The School has a growing reputation for teaching excellence and for a strong evidence based approach to education and research that is used for practice development. The School aspires to be a school in which staff and students feel valued and supported in their individual and collective efforts in areas of Allied Health.

The Division of Health Professions Education is one of four Divisions located within the School. The Division delivers a suite of four postgraduate courses, supervises research students, conducts educational research in the health professions and is developing an undergraduate major in Humanities for Health and Medicine that will commence in 2019. In addition to this, approximately 25% of MD students enrol in Health Professional Education units as part of their Scholarly Activity study.

About the opportunity: Reporting to Head of the Division, Professor Sandra Carr, you will join a small yet capable team of health professionals assisting in the management and coordination of postgraduate courses offered by the Division and supervise Master’s and PhD research students. In addition, you will enjoy the academic freedom to pursue your research areas that reflect both your strength, and interest while also supporting other academics across the Division with research projects, grant preparation and short course delivery.

To be considered for this role, you will demonstrate:

  • A Higher degree by research (PhD or Masters) and be a registered Health Professional
  • Experience and skills in the coordination and teaching of health professions education
  • A strong research and publication track record commensurate with opportunity
  • An ability to supervise postgraduate research students
  • Skills working within a collegial team environment
