Operations Manager (RCSWA)

  • An exciting rurally based management position, leading a large team of Professional and General staff across the Rural Clinical School of Western Australia (RCSWA)
  • Incremental progression based on 12 months continuous service.
  • Full-time appointment on an ongoing basis.
  • Base salary range: $129,497– $137,029 p.a. plus 17% superannuation.

About the area

The RCSWA is a unit within the Medical School of UWA, which provides rural clinical placement and training for WA medical students from UWA, Curtin University and University of Notre Dame Australia. The team is committed to providing effective and efficient services in support of the Schools’ and University’s strategic objectives, with a focus on continuous improvement and best practice.  The RCSWA Professional and General team provides academic support, administrative support, IT support and financial management services to the School. 

About the opportunity

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership to RCSWA
  • Manage Professional and General staff and resources to support the delivery of rural clinical teaching and research
  • Manage the implementation of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with funding and institutional governance
  • Lead and develop the team responsible for providing support services to the school, including medical educators and students.

About you

  • Substantial and extensive management experience at an appropriate level.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills, with a proven ability to contribute to and determine long-term strategic direction, including budget and resource management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to negotiate and influence stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in resource planning.
  • Proven ability to manage teams and facilitate professional development.

Note: The role is based at a rural site and requires travel between rural and urban locations. A “C” or “C-A” class driver’s licence will be required by the successful applicant.

The position is to be based at one of the RCSWA rural site.
