- Base salary range: $104,243 – $115,661 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation.
About the area
The Student Equity and Success team facilitate a high-quality student experience focused on access and support for students, both academic and cocurricular activities that enrich an inclusive student experience. The Student Equity and Success Team is responsible for the oversight of the Student Access and Participation Framework which, through local ownership and accountability, the University community seeks to empower all students to aspire to, achieve and thrive at The University of Western Australia (UWA).
UWA has a range of student equity and access programs through the Student Equity team within Student Life including:
- Aspire UWA works with 70 partner schools and communities in regional Western Australia and Perth to raise aspirations for tertiary education.
- Broadway Connect is a support program for first-year students, offering online mentoring and on-campus events.
- The WA Children’s University Partnership supports underrepresented primary students in Perth and regional WA, fostering lifelong learning.
- Fairway UWA is an academic support program for Year 12 students who are high achievers aiming for university and are experiencing financial disadvantage.
- The Girls+ in Engineering (GiE) program inspires female and non-binary students to take advantage of STEM study and the career pathways, focusing on areas of science where women are underrepresented.

About the opportunity
- Deliver the Children’s University program, including community events, campus events, industry engagements, and regional tours across Western Australia, while contributing to broader Student Equity initiatives.
- Support the delivery of Student Equity programs, including Aspire UWA, Fairway UWA, and Broadway Connect with a focus on outreach, access, and participation for Indigenous, regional, and low-SES students.
- Provide high‑level operational and project management oversight, including budget management, resource development, campus events, school engagement and regional and residential programs.
- Supervise and support staff involved in program delivery, while building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including schools, partner organisations and student volunteers.
About you
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or demonstrated equivalent competency.
- Substantial relevant project management and outreach experience.
- Excellent written and verbal interpersonal, communication and presentation skills and ability to negotiate with a diverse range of stakeholders to identify needs and deliver outcomes.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills and demonstrated ability to set priorities and to meet deadlines.
- Experience managing staff and the ability to work independently, show initiative, problem solve and work productively as part of a team.
Special Requirements
- Ability to work flexible hours including occasional weekend work and willingness to participate in residential camps and travel to regional and remote centres.
- Current C Class driver’s licence.
- Current Working with Children Check for Western Australia.
- Ability to undertake physical tasks such as packing and unpacking materials.
