  • Shape strategic decisions through high-quality analysis of UWA’s debt, investment and endowment portfolios.
  • Join a specialist Treasury & Investments team with broad exposure to portfolio risk, funding strategy and executive reporting.
  • Full-time (1.0 FTE) appointment on an ongoing basis.
  • Base salary range: $120,912 – $132,161 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation.

About the area

Finance supports the responsible stewardship of the University’s finances through strategic financial and commercial advice, governance frameworks, procurement, financial operations, and management of UWA’s investment and endowment portfolios. The Treasury & Investments team provides portfolio oversight, analysis and advice that supports sound decisions across the University.

About the opportunity

  • Monitor the performance, risk, cash flows, valuations and policy compliance of UWA’s debt and investment portfolios, and provide clear portfolio reporting, market commentary and recommendations to senior leaders and committees.
  • Deliver fundamental and quantitative analysis across credit, interest rate, liquidity and counterparty risk; build financial models and scenario analysis; and identify risks and opportunities arising from market, economic, regulatory and geopolitical developments.
  • Support funding, refinancing and liability management initiatives while strengthening investment and treasury policies, dashboards, reporting automation, governance processes and audit-ready documentation.

About you

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in finance, economics, accounting, mathematics or a related discipline, combined with extensive relevant experience.
  • Extensive experience in investment reporting, portfolio analytics or treasury operations, with strong financial modelling and advanced Excel capability.
  • Sound knowledge of fixed income markets, credit analysis, interest rate concepts, liquidity and treasury practices.
  • Strong analytical judgement, attention to detail and the ability to interpret complex financial information and translate it into clear insights and recommendations.
  • Well-developed written, verbal and stakeholder communication skills, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
