  • Full-time (1.0 FTE) appointment on an ongoing basis.

About the area

The Strategy, Planning & Performance team works at the centre of UWA's major strategic choices. We connect strategy, planning, performance and resource allocation to help the University understand where it is succeeding, where performance needs to change, and where leadership attention and investment will have the greatest impact.

Working across the University, the team brings together data, analysis and organisational context to support Executive and governance decision-making on priorities, performance, investment and change.

About the opportunity

This is a strategic role for someone who enjoys making sense of complexity and turning evidence into meaningful action.

  • Lead the strategic performance approach, translating institutional strategy and priorities into meaningful measures, targets and outcomes.
  • Turn analysis into decisions and identify issues that matter, helping to distinguish signal from noise and direct focus to things that matter.
  • Be a strategic advisor to lift performance capability, with relationships that connect performance with action.

About you

We are looking for someone who combines strategic judgement, analytical depth, intellectual curiosity and the confidence to influence across a complex stakeholder set. You’ll need to have a strong track record of using quantitative and qualitative evidence to diagnose complex organisational or strategic issues and translate analysis into action, with ability to link detailed evidence and the big picture.

  • Experience designing or using performance frameworks, KPI/OKRs or other outcome measures.
  • Experience advising senior executives on significant strategic or performance issues, and with the judgement and confidence to challenge assumptions constructively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to turn complex analysis into concise and persuasive performance narratives.
  • Highly developed communication, leadership, and organisational skills, including strong influencing and cross-capability relationship building.

Note: As part of the recruitment process, candidates will be required to complete declarations in accordance with the National Higher Education Code to Prevent and Respond to Gender-based Violence.
