• Based in Derby in Regional Western Australia.

• Base salary range: Level C, $149,909 – $172,441 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation.
• Rural and remote allowance applies for those living in the immediate area.

About the area

The Rural Clinical School of Western Australia (RCSWA) is a network of 15 rural and remote sites across the Kimberley, Pilbara, Mid-West, Goldfields, Great Southern and South West regions of Western Australia. Operating within the UWA Medical School and in partnership with The University of Notre Dame Australia and Curtin Medical School, RCSWA is recognised for delivering high-quality rural medical education, research and clinical engagement that strengthens health outcomes for regional communities.

Through immersive rural and remote placements, RCSWA supports medical students to develop the skills, experience and community connections that contribute to a sustainable rural medical workforce

About the opportunity

• Lead and deliver innovative medical education, clinical teaching, mentoring and student support across rural and remote clinical settings.
• Coordinate high-quality clinical learning experiences by partnering with health services, rural practitioners, community organisations and key stakeholders to enhance student outcomes.
• Contribute to rural health research, curriculum development and the advancement of rural training pathways that strengthen workforce capability across Western Australia.

About you

• Registered, or eligible for registration, as a Medical Practitioner with AHPRA
• Demonstrated experience teaching, supervising or mentoring medical students, junior doctors and/or registrars, with a commitment to educational excellence and student success.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across health services, universities, practitioners and communities.
• Commitment to rural and remote healthcare, including improving rural medical education, workforce development and health outcomes for regional communities.
• Demonstrated understanding of, and commitment to, Indigenous health and culturally responsive practice within rural and regional settings.
