About the area
The Western Australian Marine Science Institution (WAMSI) brings together leading researchers, government agencies, industry and community partners to deliver impactful marine science that supports the sustainable management of Western Australia's marine environments.
The Communications team plays a strategic role in increasing awareness, understanding and impact of WAMSI's research and programs through communications, marketing and stakeholder engagement initiatives. The team works collaboratively across research projects and partnerships to strengthen WAMSI's visibility, reputation and influence.
About the opportunity
- Develop and deliver integrated communications, marketing and digital engagement activities that promote WAMSI's research, programs, events and impact.
- Create high-quality content across websites, eDMs, social media, publications, photography and video, translating complex scientific information into engaging stories for diverse audiences.
- Build strong relationships with researchers, project teams and external stakeholders while supporting events, outreach initiatives and community engagement programs.
About you
- Relevant tertiary qualification in communications, marketing, media or a related discipline, with substantial professional experience in communications, marketing or stakeholder engagement.
- Demonstrated experience creating compelling content across digital, social media, web, newsletter and print channels, with exceptional written communication skills.
- Strong digital marketing and content management capability, including experience managing websites, social media platforms, audience engagement and campaign performance reporting.
- Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and communicate complex or technical information in a clear, accessible way.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, show initiative and deliver communications and marketing outcomes within tight deadlines.
