- Base salary range: $99,040 – $104,669 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation.
About the area
The Brand Marketing and Recruitment (BMR) division is responsible for showcasing the best of The University of Western Australia, strengthening the University's reputation and supporting student engagement and growth. Bringing together marketing, communications, engagement and events expertise, BMR delivers integrated strategies that connect UWA with future students, alumni, partners and the broader community.
Within BMR, the Brand and Engagement team serves as a strategic and creative hub, building meaningful connections through brand campaigns, partnerships, content, school engagement and major institutional events. The team ensures that every interaction with UWA reflects a consistent, authentic and engaging brand experience.
About the opportunity
- As an Events Officer, you will work with stakeholders across the University to design and deliver meaningful experiences that advance UWA's strategic objectives and strengthen engagement with key audiences.
- Working across a diverse portfolio of events, you will act as a trusted advisor, helping stakeholders shape ideas, identify opportunities and translate objectives into impactful event experiences. From executive functions and graduation ceremonies to community engagement and strategic institutional events, you will provide expert guidance while leading the planning and delivery process from concept through to evaluation.
- Success in this role requires strong project management capability, sound judgement and the ability to coordinate multiple workstreams simultaneously. You will bring together specialist teams, suppliers and stakeholders to deliver high-quality outcomes, ensuring projects remain on track, within budget and aligned with University priorities, governance requirements and brand standards.
About you
- Experience managing complex projects or events involving multiple stakeholders, workstreams and deadlines.
- Strong consultation and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to advise, influence and build trusted relationships.
- Highly developed planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Relevant tertiary qualification or demonstrated equivalent competency.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, show initiative and work as part of a team.
Note: As part of the recruitment process, candidates will be required to complete declarations in accordance with the National Higher Education Code to Prevent and Respond to Gender-based Violence. A current “C” class driver’s licence will be required by the successful applicant. The role also requires flexibility to work outside standard business hours, including occasional weekends, and the ability to undertake event-related physical tasks. Some interstate or overseas travel may be required.
