The School of Agriculture and Environment at The University of Western Australia is located within one of the world's recognised biodiversity hotspots and is home to internationally leading research in agricultural and environmental sciences. The School is ranked 1st in Australia and 13th globally for Agricultural Sciences, and is recognised for excellence in soil science, environmental science and engineering.
Working within the Institute of Agriculture, you will support the research group led by Professor Brajesh Singh, contributing to a vibrant, multidisciplinary environment that collaborates with researchers, industry partners, policymakers and international stakeholders to address some of the most significant challenges facing sustainable agriculture and environmental management.
About the opportunity
- Provide high-level administrative support, including coordination of travel, purchasing, editorial activities and day-to-day research operations.
- Lead promotion and engagement activities across social media platforms, industry events and stakeholder networks to enhance the visibility of research programs and the Journal of Sustainable Agriculture & Environment.
- Support research projects through laboratory and field administration, including coordinating consumables, maintaining records, assisting with glasshouse and field experiments, and liaising with researchers, journal teams and external partners.
About you
- Degree qualification in agriculture, environmental science, biological sciences or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education.
- Demonstrated experience in administration, coordination or project support roles, with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build productive relationships with researchers, industry partners, stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience creating and coordinating content across social media and digital engagement platforms such as LinkedIn, YouTube, X (Twitter), Instagram and TikTok.
- Strong digital literacy, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, databases, online systems and the ability to work independently, use initiative and solve problems effectively.
