UWA is making significant investments in Information and Technology Services to enable its strategic direction and goals. The Platforms and Operations portfolio provides the foundational infrastructure, platforms and operational capabilities that support the University’s teaching, research and professional services environments.
Robust, secure and well-governed infrastructure architecture is vital to ensuring that cloud, data centre, network, endpoint, integration and classroom technology services are reliable, scalable and aligned to enterprise architecture and operational standards.
About the opportunity
- Work specifically across the IT infrastructure domain, developing and guiding multidisciplinary solution architectures for hybrid cloud, data centre, network, storage, endpoint and related platform services.
- Translate project, business and technology requirements into practical infrastructure designs, patterns and implementation guidance that align with long-term strategy, roadmaps and enterprise architecture direction.
- Provide senior technical leadership for platform transitions, technology upgrades and infrastructure lifecycle management, including design reviews, risk assessment, implementation planning and transition to support.
About you
- You bring either a postgraduate qualification, extensive senior-level experience, or a strong combination of relevant education, training and practical experience.
- You have credible technical depth in cloud, infrastructure, networking, security or solution architecture, supported by relevant certifications or equivalent demonstrated experience.
- You are comfortable working across complex infrastructure environments, such as Azure, data centres, compute, storage, virtualisation, networks, endpoint platforms, automation, monitoring or related security controls.
- You can lead technical design conversations, test assumptions, document clear recommendations and bring project, architecture, cyber security and operations stakeholders with you.
- You bring a positive, can-do mindset, enjoy working with autonomy, and are able to balance strategic intent with practical delivery constraints while building trusted relationships with technical and non-technical colleagues.
