About the area
The Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Operations) (DVCO) is to oversee the University-wide operational management across UWA.

The Brand, Marketing, and Recruitment (BMR) division, within the DVCO, is dedicated to formulating organisational-wide brand strategies, executing strategic marketing plans, managing marketing communications, and driving digital engagement initiatives. As part of its mandate, the BMR division spearheads sales and marketing efforts to attract prospective students, aligning with UWA's strategic imperatives of enhancing brand reputation and fostering student recruitment.

Reporting structure
Reports to: Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Operations)
Direct Reports: Executive Officer, Associate Director of Marketing Insight and Analytics, Associate Director of Corporate Communications, Associate Director of Brand and Marketing, Director of Future Students, and Associate Director of Admissions.

About the opportunity
You will be entrusted with directing, developing, and implementing comprehensive communications and marketing strategies aimed at elevating UWA's stature as a premier institution in the global higher education landscape. Your role extends to providing strategic leadership in student recruitment endeavours, in alignment with UWA's strategic objective of enhancing its positioning and reputation while fostering strategic relationships and community engagement.

About you
You will possess a relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent competency, along with extensive leadership experience demonstrating the ability to motivate and develop high-performing teams, manage change effectively, and optimise resources and budgets. You should also demonstrate proficiency in influencing, negotiating, and communicating within a large, complex organisation, fostering relationships across senior levels.

Additionally, you will showcase demonstrated expertise in leading marketing and communications functions within a large organisation, skilled at developing and executing strategic plans. Strong strategic planning abilities, coupled with excellent conceptual and analytical skills, are essential, along with exceptional written and verbal communication skills enabling the production of clear and concise reports to support planning and policy development.
