  • Base salary range: $140,667 – $146,147 p.a. plus 17% superannuation.

About the team
As a Finance Business Partner within our Finance division, you'll play a lead role in supporting the University's strategic initiatives in Education and/or Research. Our Finance division operates at the forefront of stewarding the University's financial resources, providing strategic advice, establishing management frameworks, and ensuring accountability across all financial operations.

About the opportunity
You will collaborate closely with University and Finance Executives to provide expert financial advice, drive strategic decision-making, and integrate financial and operational strategies. Your role spans the full spectrum of strategic financial matters, from developing financial plans to executing effective policies and systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic financial advice on either Education or Research strategies, developing financial plans, and establishing KPIs aligned with University objectives.
  • Utilise evidence-based financial modelling and analysis to support decision-making processes and provide constructive insights for continuous improvement.
  • Drive financial understanding and communication across Education or Research initiatives, ensuring alignment with overall strategy and objectives.
  • Lead multi-disciplinary finance teams to deliver successful financial outcomes reflective of Education or Research strategies.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to prepare timely and accurate financial data, reports, and presentations for internal audiences.
  • Develop stakeholder engagement plans to promote financial literacy, proactive business practices, and mitigate financial risks.
  • Cultivate trusted relationships and partnerships to enhance stakeholder and staff engagement across Education or Research sectors.
  • Lead specific projects and internal reviews to improve service delivery and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within Finance.

About you
To be considered for this opportunity, you will demonstrate:

  • Over 10 years of experience in financial performance management or related disciplines, with a degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Full professional membership in a recognised accounting body.
  • Strong leadership experience in strategic planning, financial analysis, and management reporting, with a focus on governance and partnership orientation.
  • Demonstrated ability in financial modelling, scenario planning, and finding innovative solutions to improve financial performance.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organisational, and time management skills.
  • Proven track record of process improvements and delivering high-quality financial advice and support.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills with a commitment to quality stakeholder management and achieving strategic objectives.
