About the area

The University of Western Australia (UWA) is at the centre of health advancement through clinical, health, and biomedical education, discovery and translational research and best practice.

UWA has a strong suite of health courses, including the Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Dental Medicine, Doctor of Optometry, Master of Clinical Audiology, Master of Pharmacy and Bachelor of Social Work (Honours), Doctor of Podiatric Medicine and the Doctor of Podiatric Surgery.

The Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree is a comprehensive course designed to produce highly trained and competent podiatrists, who are well prepared to enter clinical practice as primary contact health care practitioners in the diagnosis and treatment of conditions affecting the foot and ankle. The Doctor of Podiatric Surgery is a specialist degree, the only one of its types in Australia, that provides theoretical and clinical knowledge in podiatric surgery to an advanced level

About the opportunity

The Professor of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Discipline will provide leadership and foster excellence in research, teaching, community engagement and policy development in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery within the University and within the community, professional, and industry sectors. This includes providing leadership through collaboration, capacity building and advancing cross-disciplinary research and teaching activity as well as leading the strengthening and exploration of new partnerships with relevant internal and external stakeholders both nationally and internationally.
