  • Base salary: $76,422 increasing 1st July 2024 to $80,243 p.a. plus 17% superannuation.

About the team
College Services provides essential academic administration and technical support services to the University’s schools, facilitating the smooth operation of academic activities. We are dedicated to upholding the University's strategic objectives through effective service delivery, continuous improvement, and adherence to best practices. The Schools Operations team, within College Services, is responsible for offering academic support services and general administrative assistance to the University’s Schools.

About the opportunity
As the Placement Officer, you will work under general direction to coordinate professional placement opportunities for students while managing the administrative functions associated with the placement program.

Key responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary contact for placement students, staff, and organisations, offering support, advice, and accurate information.
  • Facilitate administrative arrangements for all placements, ensuring compliance with program requirements and University policies.
  • Assist Academic coordinators with various aspects of placement units, including selection, host placements, and final presentations.
  • Contribute to the development, documentation, and implementation of procedures related to student placements to ensure compliance with legal, risk, and health and safety requirements.
  • Process and track placement requests, allocate students, and liaise with stakeholders.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with industry partners and external placement providers, exploring opportunities for new partnerships and managing placement agreements.
  • Generate placement data and reports as needed.
  • Support in-school outreach activities associated with placements.
  • Provide administrative support for LANTITE and TPA.
  • Collaborate with other teams across School Operations, offering administrative support across various areas as required.

About you
To be considered for this opportunity, you will demonstrate:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent competency.
  • Substantial administrative experience at an appropriate level.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in computing skills including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, internet, and email.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Capability to provide student support and learning assistance in a higher education setting.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise effectively with professionals and establish strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • A commitment to delivering high-quality customer service.
