  • Full-time appointment on a 12-month fixed term basis
  • Base salary range: Level A, $80,520 - $108,362 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation

About the team

The Cancer Epigenetics laboratory is based out of Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research, Nedlands WA.  We are a fully funded laboratory working on novel therapeutics for hard-to-treat cancers. The laboratory is focused on 2 main projects: the use of CRISPR technology to manipulate the epigenome of cancers and characterization of a previously unknown oncogene involved in promotion of cancer resistance to therapy.

We are seeking a postdoctoral research associate to contribute and support our -omics projects with a focus on single cell RNA sequencing data analysis.

About the opportunity

As the appointee you will, under direction of the Associate Professor contribute to and coordinate experimental design, data analysis and interpretation of transcriptomic and genomic experiments.

About you

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in bioinformatics, computational biology, or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrated commitment in participating in high quality research evidenced by peer-reviewed journal articles published in respected scholarly journals   
  • Demonstrated ability to relate well to staff and students at all levels and evidence of a commitment to equity and diversity principles 
  • Understand molecular biology concepts
  • Demonstrated experience working with high-throughput sequencing platforms including genomics, transcriptomics (bulk and single cell RNA-seq)
  • Demonstrated capacity to prepare reports, presentations, including for academic publication contexts
