About the team
The Directorate of Student Life, within the Education Portfolio overseen by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Education, provides a world-class student experience, supporting students from access to UWA through graduation, and promoting academic success and wellbeing. It collaborates closely with the Student Guild, residential colleges, and the UWA Education portfolio.

The Student Wellbeing and Engagement division enhances the student experience through integrated services, overseeing the UWA Mental Health and Wellbeing Framework. Key responsibilities include Complex Case Management, Counselling and Psychological services, early intervention, student engagement, onboarding, and addressing gender-based violence through the Respectful and Safer Communities team.

About the opportunity
As the Complex Case Manager, you will work within a multidisciplinary team to manage students with multiple and complex needs. You will coordinate internal and external support services, contribute to the University’s strategic objectives, and provide leadership on managing serious student incidents and complex cases.

About you
To be considered for this opportunity, you will demonstrate:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent competency.
  • Registration with a relevant professional organisation (e.g., AASW).
  • Extensive experience in case management for students with complex needs.
  • Experience in managing serious incidents and crisis intervention.
  • High-level analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to provide clinical supervision and establish effective partnerships.
  • Proficiency in computing skills and effective communication abilities.

Special Requirements:

  • Occasional after-hours work for incident response.
  • Current Working with Children Check and National Police Clearance Certificate.
