About the team

The Brand, Marketing and Recruitment (BMR) division exists for the purpose of showcasing the best of UWA, ultimately enhancing reputation and driving student recruitment.  The division consolidates all marketing, communications and future student related activity into one team, enabling efficiency and effectiveness gains for the University.

Functions delivered by the BMR division include organisational wide brand strategy and management, strategic marketing planning, communications activities (advertising, marketing, content, media, public relations); digital communication, reputation management, recruitment planning, business development, schools engagement, contact centre operations and admissions services.  The range of functions delivered are all targeted at managing the University’s reputation and achieving its revenue goals. 

The Brand and Marketing team within BMR provides strategic brand direction and ongoing brand management for the University. The marketing area works across all global markets to help build the brand position and to attract business partners and students to UWA. The Brand and Marketing team consults with; and across all areas of the University to implement marketing plans and associated activities.

About the opportunity

  • You will provide a high level of front-end digital website development expertise and knowledge in the planning, development, implementation and maintenance of the University’s digital platforms including the University’s content management systems.
  • You will have considerable impact on the approach taken to website development, and will provide input on UI design, architecture, APIs and more.  You will be responsible for the implementation of a modern, consistent and accessible web interface across public facing UWA websites.

About you 

You are a solution-orientated individual with the ability to work with various technical teams to collaborate on digital solutions.

You are methodical in your approach and can clearly articulate your thinking and recommendations to colleagues who have limited development knowledge.

To be considered for this role, you will demonstrate - 

  • Relevant tertiary qualification or demonstrated equivalent competency
  • Advanced skills in front-end development using tools and frameworks such as HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, Next.js, React, GIT, SAAS, Gulp and Node.js.
  • Substantial experience in using UX/UI principles to design and develop complex, web design frameworks and applications aligned to specific needs
  • Substantial experience with web content management systems and digital marketing tools such as Sitecore, Funnelback, Orcale Eloqua and Google Tag Manager
  • Strong analytical, data analysis and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be adaptable, proactive, willing to take ownership and manage time
  • Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders with varying levels of technical understanding
  • Basic knowledge of back-end templated languages such as C# programming is desirable
