About the area

The principal role of the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education) is to lead and oversee the educational and global engagement activities of the University.

The Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Academic) is responsible for strategic leadership and oversight of curriculum design and innovation, including academic quality assurance and risk management, academic standards, learning and teaching excellence and scholarship strategies.

About the opportunity

  • You will support the design and implementation of innovative learning activities and assessment practices to enhance student engagement, academic integrity, and skills development, including the effective integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools. 
  • Work closely with Schools to assist in curriculum and assessment reviews. A key component is collaborating with students to support student-led curriculum initiatives. 
  • Contribute to educational design projects that align with institutional and School strategies while managing competing priorities and providing support to senior staff within the Office of the Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic).

About you

  • A relevant tertiary qualification or demonstrated equivalent competency.
  • Strong knowledge of educational theories related to learning and teaching practices, with experience applying these theories in curriculum and assessment design.
  • Familiarity with AI tools in education and the ability to explain their applications, benefits, and limitations to academic and professional staff.
  • Understanding of academic integrity challenges, particularly assessment, and knowledge of strategies to mitigate risks. 
  • Experience contributing to educational design projects within universities, schools, or disciplines. 
  • Extensive experience in developing guidance and training materials for staff and students on educational processes.
