About the area
The International Centre for Radio Astronomy Research (ICRAR) is a joint venture between Curtin University and The University of Western Australia, and one of the largest astronomy institutions in Australia. ICRAR plays a key role in the international Square Kilometre Array (SKA) Project - the world’s largest radio telescope. The Astrophotonics Group within ICRAR focuses on advanced photonic systems for astronomy and space science, combining expertise in physics, engineering, and astronomy to deliver innovative solutions.
About the opportunity
- Contribute to the design and implementation of the Frequency Distribution System for the SKA-Mid telescope.
- Collaborate with international partners and industry on a globally significant scientific project.
- Apply systems engineering expertise to complex, innovative technologies in a dynamic research environment.
About you
- Tertiary qualification in systems engineering, electrical engineering or a related discipline.
- Extensive experience applying systems engineering principles to complex technical systems.
- Strong understanding of requirements engineering, risk analysis, and engineering change control.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience in system integration and verification.
- Excellent communication and technical writing skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
