About the area
The University Secretariat is responsible for the oversight and coordination of the corporate and academic governance of the University. The Secretariat facilitates UWA’s corporate decision-making and governance processes through the provision of reliable, comprehensive and confidential services to the Senate and its committees, and the controlled entities of the University.
The Policy Secretariat team, a key unit within the University Secretariat, provides a structured and coordinated approach to policy development and compliance, supporting the University’s commitment to a strong corporate governance culture.
About the opportunity
- Support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of UWA’s policy governance framework.
- Partner with schools and functional areas to guide policy creation, review and compliance processes.
- Contribute to high‑level governance, preparing documentation for executive and Senate bodies.
About you
- Strong written communication capability, with proven experience producing clear, accessible and compliant policy documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholder groups to achieve consistent governance outcomes.
- Experience developing or supporting policies, procedures, training materials and related documentation.
- Well‑developed organisational skills, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work proactively and independently while contributing effectively within a governance‑focused team environment.
