About the area
WAMSI is a collaborative, Unincorporated Joint Venture between Eleven parties, representing Commonwealth and Western Australian State Government research organisations, including the CSIRO and AIMS, together with the Western Australian universities and the private sector. The Institution is governed by an Independent Board and manages a research portfolio relevant to the management of the State’s marine resources and environment.
The Senior Project Manager will manage the overall coordination and implementation of the WA Reef Regeneration Program and subsidiary projects through the Western Australian Marine Science Institution (WAMSI). The Program will be delivered in accordance with the WA Reef Regeneration Program Road Map to ensure agreed objectives are achieved and communicated appropriately within WAMSI, WAMSI Partners and other stakeholders. Specific program level responsibilities are listed below.
About the opportunity
- Manage and coordinate ongoing project implementation, including scheduling, budgeting, reporting, and deliverables.
- Develop collaborative research projects through strategic and operational planning, managing risk, competing priorities, and significant resources.
- Manage stakeholder relationships between WAMSI and WAMSI partners, providing high-level advice.
About you
- A relevant tertiary qualification, with extensive relevant experience or equivalent education/training.
- Substantial experience in managing multifaceted projects and the output of multidisciplined teams.
- Substantial experience in influencing decision making, negotiating, and managing contracts.
- Substantial experience communicating and working with diverse stakeholders as well as have the ability to liaise and communicate scientific information to Government, philanthropic, community and First Nations stakeholders.
- Project budget and management experience.
- Desirable: Knowledge of marine science, particularly coral.
