About the area
The HDR Support Officer provides administrative support for the effective delivery and management of Higher Degree by Research (HDR) programs within the Graduate Research School. Operating within a well-defined regulatory and policy environment, the role is responsible for providing administrative support to key processes across the HDR student lifecycle, including admissions, enrolment, candidature management, scholarship administration, milestone tracking, examinations, and compliance with institutional and government requirements.
This position requires a working knowledge of university policies, research training frameworks, and reporting obligations. The HDR Support Officer works collaboratively with academic units, central services, and external stakeholders to ensure a high-quality experience for HDR candidates and supervisors.
About the opportunity
- Support the processing and coordination of HDR student matters in line with university policies and regulatory requirements (e.g., HESF, TEQSA, AQF, RTP, ESOS).
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records in university systems (e.g., Callista) and support data integrity through audits and reporting.
- Contribute to ongoing improvements in HDR systems, policies, and procedures to enhance efficiency, student experience and candidate outcomes.
About you
- Demonstrated experience in a complex administrative role, preferably postgraduate student administration.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, including the ability to prioritise tasks, manage competing deadlines, and maintain attention to detail.
- Financial administration skills, including budget monitoring and reporting.
- Commitment to equity, diversity, and cultural sensitivity.
- Understanding of WHS responsibilities and quality assurance principles.
