About the opportunity
This is a senior academic and clinical leadership role for an experienced implant dentistry academic to make a significant impact across teaching, research and clinical service development.
- As Senior Lecturer (Implant Dentistry), you will provide academic leadership in implant dentistry, contributing to the development and delivery of postgraduate programs, micro-credentials and continuing professional development offerings aligned with the strategic priorities of the UWA Dental School.
- A key focus of the role is the establishment and growth of a clinical implant dentistry service within the Oral Health Centre of Western Australia. This service will support student training, professional education and high-quality patient care, while strengthening the school’s academic and clinical profile in implant dentistry.
- You will also contribute to high-quality research, develop collaborative partnerships with industry and clinical stakeholders, and support the ongoing development of the school’s curriculum and research capability
About you
You will be a recognised implant dentistry academic and clinician with the capability to lead across education, research and clinical service delivery. You will bring:
- A primary dental qualification (BDS, DMD or equivalent) with eligibility for general registration as a dental practitioner with the Dental Board of Australia, plus a specialist qualification (MDS or equivalent) in Implant Dentistry and a PhD in implant dentistry or a related discipline
- Demonstrated clinical expertise in implant dentistry, including experience providing independent teaching and clinical supervision in a tertiary education environment
- Proven ability to design, deliver and evaluate high-quality, evidence-based educational programs, including postgraduate units, micro-credentials or continuing professional development
- An active research profile with peer‑reviewed publications and the ability to contribute to research collaborations and funding activity
- Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with experience building productive relationships across academic, clinical and industry settings
