Information Governance Advisor

  • Full-time (1.0 FTE) appointment on an ongoing basis.
  • Base salary range: $104,243 – $115,661 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation.

About the area

The Risk, Integrity, Safety and Compliance (RISC) Division provides enterprise‑wide leadership across risk management, compliance, safety, and information governance. Within RISC, the Information Governance team supports the University to manage information responsibly, ethically and in line with legislative and regulatory obligations, enabling trust, transparency and academic excellence.

About the opportunity

  • Reporting to the Senior Manager, Information Governance, this role supports the implementation and continuous improvement of the University’s Information Governance Framework, policies and standards.
  • You will provide practical, solutions‑focused advice to staff across the University on privacy, responsible information sharing, records and information lifecycle management. The role also supports the University’s Privacy, Responsible Information Sharing and Freedom of Information (FOI) functions, contributing to disclosure requests, eDiscovery support, training, and awareness activities.
  • This is an opportunity to apply your information governance expertise in a complex, values‑driven environment, working with diverse stakeholders and contributing to meaningful institutional outcomes.

About you

  • A degree in information management (or a related discipline) with relevant professional experience.
  • Substantial experience in information governance, privacy, records or knowledge management roles.
  • Working knowledge of information governance legislation and policy, including privacy, records and information access frameworks.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex requirements clearly.
  • Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and manage competing priorities.
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of Microsoft 365.
