About the area
The Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor Indigenous Education (PVCIE) is responsible for leading the University of Western Australia’s Indigenous Education Strategy which encompasses all areas of the University’s activities. The PVCIE provides strategic leadership of the School of Indigenous Studies and is responsible for the operations and strategic developments of the Berndt Museum, and the Poche Centre for Indigenous Health. Through these entities the office has responsibility to deliver multi-disciplinary teaching and research programs and provide specialised support and services to current and future Indigenous students.
The Kwop Boorn Djenara Centre works collaboratively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, families, communities and organisations. The Centre promotes evidence-based suicide prevention practice that empowers individuals, families and communities and respects their culture.
About the opportunity
- Coordinate and promote Kwop Boorn Djenar's social media presence and posts.
- Contribute to video projects to visually highlight various initiatives.
- Provide support to fellow researchers in creating informative fact sheets and newsletters for promotional purposes.
About you
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Marketing, Journalism, Health Promotion, Public Health or a related field, or demonstrated equivalent competency.
- Substantial relevant experience in coordinating social media and promotion activities at an appropriate level.
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating cultural sensitivity and respect.
- Highly developed organisational skills with the demonstrated ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently, show initiative, problem solve and work productively as part of a team.
