- Base salary range: $108,413 – $120,287 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation.
About the area
The University of Western Australia’s Finance portfolio supports the stewardship of the University’s financial resources through strategic financial advice, financial management frameworks, procurement, investment oversight, compliance, and transactional services. Finance operates across three key pillars: Financial Compliance, Financial Performance, and Procurement, supporting stakeholders from senior leadership through to staff and students across the University.
Within Financial Compliance, this position sits within the Finance Transactions function and contributes to delivering effective financial administration, compliance, advisory services, and continuous improvement initiatives that support operational excellence across the University.
About the opportunity
- Lead the delivery of complex financial processing, financial administration, and advisory services, ensuring a high standard of customer-focused support to University stakeholders.
- Supervise and develop a team of finance professionals, including work allocation, coaching, training, performance support, and monitoring of internal controls.
- Drive process innovation and continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance financial operations, compliance, efficiency, and service delivery.
About you
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline, or demonstrated equivalent experience.
- Significant experience in financial management, financial administration, accounts processing, compliance, or transactional finance services.
- Strong knowledge of financial accounting practices, policies, procedures, systems, and financial controls.
- Demonstrated leadership capability, including supervising staff, coaching team members, and building capability through training and development.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, problem-solving, organisational, and customer service skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and drive continuous improvement outcomes.
