UWA Medical School

  • Play a key role in curriculum development, teaching and student experience in Medical Sciences for the Global MD with the target of producing outstanding medical graduates into areas of workforce need such as primary care, public health, preventative medicine and in improving the health of rural and underserved communities
  • Full-time appointment on a fixed term basis until the end of November 2026.
  • Base salary range: Level B, $113,934 – $134,824; Level C, $139,000 - 159,893 p.a. plus 17% superannuation.

About the area

The University of Western Australia (UWA) Medical School is the largest and longest established medical school in Western Australia. It delivers a 4-year post-graduate MD course to domestic and international students. The School also has substantial and successful research programs across most disciplines in the medical sector. Together with our key partner, the University of Arizona (U of A), UWA Medical School is developing a new medical degree (Global MD) to run alongside its existing world-class offerings. Students undertaking the Global MD will complete 2-years of study in Western Australia and a further 2-years in Arizona. 

About the opportunity

  • Develop and deliver world-class Medical Science content within the first two years of the Global MD, in alignment with the global heath, primary care and Indigenous health domains of the program
  • Contribute to providing student doctors with a world class learning experience in the classroom and using digital formats
  • Grow a team of medical science educators and tutors to deliver the Global MD and work in synergy with the established medical science team in the UWA Doctor of Medicine course

About you

  • Develop, coordinate and deliver world-class teaching in the medical science Curriculum within the Global MD including Unit Coordination duties as required. 
  • Collaborate and lead pre-clinical medical science delivery with other disciplines to provide vertically and horizontally integrated medical education.
  • Create digital and in-person learning resources, practical modules and innovative teaching materials and assessments across the Global MD program with a focus on global health, preventative medicine, and primary care. 
  • Attract and contribute to student recruitment and selection, participating in interview panels and related activities
