  • Base salary range: $112,114 – $122,544 p.a. plus 17% superannuation.

About the area
The University Secretariat, part of the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Operations), is responsible for the effective operation of UWA’s corporate and academic governance structures. The team provides expert advisory, secretariat, and consultative services to the University Senate, its committees, and key academic and operational bodies. The Secretariat ensures informed decision-making, transparency, and alignment with legislative and policy frameworks.

About the opportunity

  • Provide high-level governance support to the Senate, committees, and other governing bodies—ensuring effective meetings, compliance, and documentation.
  • Act as a trusted adviser to senior leaders on governance matters, policies, and best practice.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen governance structures and promote a culture of integrity and accountability.

About you

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in governance, law, business administration, or public policy, or equivalent experience.
  • Deep understanding of governance frameworks, legislative compliance, and the higher education regulatory environment.
  • Exceptional organisational skills with a strong eye for detail in preparing agendas, minutes, and governance documentation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage a wide range of stakeholders.
  • A proactive, collaborative approach with a high level of professionalism and discretion in handling sensitive information.

Special Requirements

  • A current National Police Clearance Certificate will be required prior to appointment.
