About the area

People & Culture plays a pivotal role in ensuring UWA achieves its ambitions. We partner closely with senior leaders across the University to deliver practical and innovative solutions that contribute to academic and business success. This role reports to a DEI specialist and sits within a central team dedicated to building capability and driving meaningful change.

About the opportunity

In this newly created role, you will coordinate and deliver DEI projects and initiatives across the University. You will contribute to the implementation of UWA’s DEI Strategy and support key compliance and reporting functions. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing DEI project timelines, milestones and deliverables (including DEI Strategy actions).
  • Coordinating events, forums, campaigns and training activities.
  • Supporting the delivery and monitoring of UWA’s Disability Access & Inclusion Plan & Gender Equity Action Plan.
  • Assisting with WGEA reporting, data analysis and documentation along with other DEI compliance reporting.
  • Developing and maintaining DEI communications and content across digital channels (web, intranet, service directories).
  • Managing DEI enquiries and providing high-quality support to stakeholders.
  • Contributing to evaluation, measurement and continuous improvement activities.
  • Identifying opportunities to enhance DEI maturity and operational capability.

You will be supported by, and work closely with, an experienced senior specialist, giving you the chance to deepen your skills in DEI, project management, legislation, and organisational capability.

About you

You will bring:

  • Experience and/or knowledge in DEI, with a commitment to fostering inclusion.
  • Working knowledge of DEI-related legislation (WA and Commonwealth).
  • Strong project coordination skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strong analytical capability (or interest), including data interpretation for monitoring and reporting.
  • High levels of organisation and attention to detail.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset.

Special Requirements

  • Employment checks will include information on gender-based violence, sexual harassment, and related misconduct to meet legal obligations.
  • Current Working with Children Check for Western Australia.
  • Current National Police Clearance Certificate.
