About the area

UWA is making significant investments in the Information and Technology Services to enable its strategic direction and goals.  UWA is also looking to utilise technology advancements to expand its services and create new and innovative teaching and research models. Robust, flexible, integrated and agile enterprise architecture, information and technology services are vital to enabling the university strategic objectives.

The IT Delivery Enablement team manages the progression of IT initiatives through ideation, initiation, business case, planning and execution supported by the Portfolio Management Office (PMO).  The team also provides functional support for Program and Project Management, Business Analysis, Change Management, and Test & Release Management.

About the opportunity

We are seeking a Project Manager with extensive experience in all phases of the project delivery lifecycle and delivery methodologies with the skills and flexibility to be assigned to any complex project within IT.

This role will largely sit at the front end of the IT project portfolio, working with UWA stakeholders to turn ideas into investment-ready proposals. Exceptional project planning skills will be required to define scope, complexity, risks, dependencies, resourcing, schedule and budget, and support the business owners to develop credible business cases.

About you

  • Tertiary qualification in STEM or Business or demonstrated equivalent competency.
  • Project Management qualifications (PMP, Prince2) or equivalent competency.
  • Substantial relevant experience as a Project Manager (5-10 years’ experience delivering IT projects value > $2M+) managing the full lifecycle delivery of complex IT initiatives, from initiation through to closure.
  • Substantial experience in scoping, estimating, risk assessment and concept-stage planning.
  • Highly developed experience in developing business cases or investment proposals.
