- Part-time (0.5FTE) appointment on fixed term basis for 28 months
- Salary range: Level A $74,236 – $99,905.00 p.a. plus 17% superannuation

About the team
The Western Australian Centre for Rural Health (WACRH) is administered by the University of Western Australia and is part of a network of University Departments of Rural Health across Australia. WACRH has its main centre in Geraldton (where this position will be located). It also has offices and academics located in Karratha and Carnarvon. .
WACRH’s vision is to be a leader in the creation and optimisation of rural health knowledge and practice that improves the health of rural communities.
About the opportunity
Under the direction of the Associate Professor in Rural Health, you will participate in the development of innovative professional practice programs for students in pharmacy, and in interprofessional practice opportunities. This includes supporting and supervision of pharmacy students undertaking clinical placements in the regions that we cover (Midwest, Pilbara and Gascoyne); contributing to interprofessional learning of health science students undertaking rural placements; enhancing professional development and support for pharmacists working in the WACRH regions; and enhancing practice and research, particularly in improvement of quality of care and chronic disease management.
To be considered for this role, you will demonstrate:
- A degree in Pharmacy and registration as a Pharmacist with the Pharmacy Board of Australia and at least 2 years of relevant pharmacy practice experience following registration
- Experience in the supervision of pharmacy students
- Well developed oral and written communication skills, including experience in presenting material to a variety of people and a proven ability to use discretion with confidential and sensitive information, and experiencing in preparing reports and other written documentation
- Commitment to increasing Aboriginal peoples’ roles in improving the health and well-being of their communities, as planners and managers, service providers, trainers and trainees
- Commitment to principles of client-centred, culturally appropriate health care, interprofessional practice, service learning and community development as they apply to rural and remote Australian communities
- Experience in the integration of theory to drive the development, delivery and evaluation of innovative pharmacy programs
Note: A current driver’s licence, Working with Children check, and National Police Clearance certificate is a requirement for this position.
