- Base salary range: $83,212– $92,231p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation.
About the area
College Services provides academic administration and technical support to UWA’s Schools, delivering high-performing, efficient services that underpin teaching, research and student experience. Within this, Technical Services delivers discipline‑specific expertise across a broad portfolio including laboratory preparation, fieldwork support, equipment and instrument stewardship, research optimisation, workshop design/manufacture, and safety systems. The team supports teaching and research across the Natural, Agricultural and Social Sciences, including areas such as animal biology, plant biology, archaeology, geography, and environmental materials analysis, both on campus and in the field.
About the opportunity
- Provide high-level technical support through the setup, preparation and maintenance of materials, equipment and instrumentation
- Deliver training, demonstrations and specialist advice to staff and students
- Contribute to safe, efficient and compliant laboratory, workshop and fieldwork operations
About you
- A tertiary qualification in Physics, Geology, Chemistry, Environmental Sciences, or a related field is required with experience in XRD sample preparation. XRD sample analysis experience is desirable
- Substantial hands‑on technical experience supporting teaching and/or research
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to train, guide and support others
- The ability to work independently while also contributing positively to a wider team environment
