About the area
College Services provides academic administration and technical support across UWA’s Schools, supporting academics and research students to achieve high-quality teaching and research outcomes. Technical Services delivers discipline-specific expertise to underpin teaching, fieldwork, laboratory management, research design and optimisation, equipment stewardship, and workshop support.
This role contributes to the broad Life Sciences teaching portfolio including areas such as anatomy, physiology, sports science, optometry, and podiatry and supports the curation and management of associated resources.
About the opportunity
- Provide high-level specialist technical expertise to support academics, technical staff, and students
- Support the postgraduate Optometry program, including clinic teaching laboratories.
- Ensure compliance with relevant policies, safety requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
About you
- Relevant tertiary or technical qualification or equivalent competency - Experience in optics is highly desirable.
- Substantial relevant technical experience at an appropriate level.
- Ability to supervise staff.
- Proven ability in implementing a range of policies and procedures to support teaching and research from a technical and scientific perspective.
- Proficiency in a range of computing skills including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, email on online/internet-based systems.
