About the area
The UWA Centre for Energy is an internationally reputed research facility in fuels, energy and sustainable development. The Centre's overall aim is to develop new knowledge and advanced technologies for efficient, effective and environmentally friendly utilisation of fuels and energy in the resources industries.
The Centre is working closely with leading companies, institutions and government agencies, to improve fuel processing, energy conversion and utilisation technologies.
About the opportunity
- Coordinate and manage diverse research programs in energy, including chemical reaction engineering, thermodynamics, renewable fuels, waste valorisation, and energy storage.
- Lead and supervise research teams, secure funding through proposals, and collaborate with industry and academic partners locally and internationally.
- Publish high-impact research, mentor students, and enhance the Centre’s reputation through strategic engagement and governance.
About you
- A PhD degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent, with proven research track record and research leadership experience.
- A demonstrable track record in excellence in research evidenced by peer-reviewed journal articles published in high quality journals relative to opportunity.
- Demonstrate evidence of successful supervision or co-supervision of HDR students, relative to opportunity.
- Research experience and evidence of applishments in one or more of the following areas:
- Chemical reaction engineering & kinetics.
- Thermodynamics, fuel processing, energy conversion, and power systems.
- Renewable hydrogen and renewable ammonia, miniaturised Haber Bosch process for reneable ammonia synthesis.
- Waste Management and Valorisation.
- Proficiency in experiment design, performance and subsequent data analysis.
